No bookshelf is complete w/o at least one dictionary . If you are visually impaired as I , this book is for YOU ! It does include some modern slang yet , doesn't contain the verbiage as w/ it's hard cover counterpart . You won't even notice it's shortcomings , I assure you .Unless you are an English major w/ aspirations of becoming aprofessor , this book is all you will need .
The print is excellent for anyone who is sight impaired. It is great not to have to reach for my magnifying glass every time I want to look up a word in the dictionary I had before replacing it with this one.
I purchased this book for my children who are 9 and 11 because our standard Merriam-Webster dictionary was just too confusing and tiny for beginner dictionary users. This is just perfect for my kiddos so now when they ask me what a word means or how to spell it I can say "go look it up" and they can. I even find it a faster look up though it's more basic in the extras, it's perfect for our every day use needs.
This is a good dictionary if all you are goiing to use it for is spelling correction. However it lacks detailed definitions. The definitions are very shot sometimes only one sentence or two or three words.
My 80 year old Mom and I play scrabble and do crosswords together. This dictionary makes it easier for her to actively participate. Cost was reasonable and delivery was timely.
It is in very nice shape and will work for me.I would rather had hard copy, but cost too much.The definitions are very short but OK. I would recommend for the price.
This was requested by a 70+ year old friend for his Christma gift. I chose large-print so he would not need his glasses or a magnifying glass to check a spelling. He seemed pleased with the book and hopefully he will use it often, as needed.
you can see each word clear ,no more straining my eyes now it's easy looking for words the large print is perfect
