I have received 100% on every care plan and concept map I have ever submitted with this book's help. Look up the patient's medical diagnosis in the back of the book to find a list of pertinent nursing diagnoses OR peruse the nursing diagnoses by population (ie: Adults, Peds, OB, Psych, etc). All of the interventions and rationales are right there for you, plus measurable outcomes. I stopped buying textbooks after my first semester because they were a waste of money, but this book is worth every single penny- ten times over! You won't regret this purchase. It takes for every to find what you're looking for. It would be easier if everything was listed in aphabetical order, but it's not. I don't think it's user friendly at all. It's so annoying that I stopped using it all together. If you figure out how to navigate it I'm sure it's great. The info is there, all that you need but finding what you're looking for is too time consuming. I'm very impatient when it come to finding information. I don't want to spend 30 min looking for a diagnosis that I could google or find in my text book.
This book was required for school, it helped a slight bit in making care plans, but I don't like the layout of the book. Seems very difficult to find what I am looking for. It was easier, cheaper, and just as accurate to google what I was looking for.
I bought both this volume and the latest Ackley for nursing school. I personally find the book's organization and layout lacking compared to Ackley. It has decent details and the information is sound. If you just want concise ideas, this is the one for you.
First of all, my friend let me borrow her book and from the time I opened the first page I knew I needed my own copy. I will most definitely be using this more. I wish I knew about it at the start of nursing school I would of bought it then. But, I have it now and I recommend it because its great for nursing diagnosis and interventions along with rationales. GREAT BUY!!! As for the seller. The estimated delivery was June 2. I received it on May 27th. Almost a week early so, HELL YES I am happy. Such a great buy and seller.
If you're in nursing school, you NEED this book.It helped me through my nursing diagnoses, interventions, and rationales, and made my life so much easier. This lists many more diagnoses, interventions, and rationales than the little book they give you in school.
When it comes to writing your care plans for nursing school, you can't go wrong with Sparks and Taylor.The back of the book gives you a list of conditions and the possible nursing diagnoses for each one. I would be lost without it. It takes the guess work out and helps you begin your problem solving, critical thinking.A must buy.
I ordered this for my nursing course. The book is a lot smaller then I thought it would be, but it is very thick. The great thing about this is it is not a heavy book. I also received this in a great amount of time from the sender.
