Bought these for my sister, an RN, who's been having to deal with more and more patients speaking Spanish, and regular dictionaries don't address the specificity of Medical issues...she says it's been a Godsend.Well made, sturdy lamination protects product; clear, legible print. Only changes I would make: make it down to fit in a pocket or personal Daytimer, could be put on a keyring to keep 'em together or spiral bound. Make it a little more convenient for carrying with on the job, and not sitting at a desk.
While this study guide was not as helpful as I wanted as an occupational therapist, it would be great for nursing or doctors. Very complete with importanct vocabulary
Would have been 5 stars but no gastroI was disappointed as they do not have a section for gastroenterology. Not one word even. Its okay and it lost a star for the lack of gastroOther than that, cheap and provides many commonly used phrases for the docs office
For medical professionals, medical Spanish is necessary int he Southwestern US. This laminated card it easy to use. However, several pocket-size cards might work better. Or the single page design could be folded.
My son is training for Pharmacy Tech. I have been purchasing these and others like these (Medical abbreviations, etc) to put in a small notebook for him to have and carry. These are laminated and are very nice. I think they will come in handy for him.
I purchased this chart to carry with me when I interpret at a hospital or doctors office. I have shown it to the staff in doctors offices, many have purchased one because it is so helpful when you want to communicate with another individual in Spanish.
We used these on our medical mission trip to Guatemala. They were helpful both to use AND our translators. Conversation doesn't always translate well so it was nice have a quick guide that both of us could use to communicate.
This product is great for the front desk receptionist who is not quite proficient in Spanish or any nurse or doctor during triage. It's an excellent product and it is laminated on a durable card stock that is color coded by topic.
