DOESN'T INCULED CONNECT ACCESS CODE!! Book is in great shape but I thought since I was ordering a brand new book the connect access code would be included. It wasn't and it will now cost just as much as the bookstore since I have to purchase the online access.
This book is cheat made with very thin pages which tear when turning them. The subject material is grouped by system but information is sometimes vague. If your taking this course with the Connect courseware or online BEWARE! The online modules do not match the information covered in the text book. Halfway through the course my registration magically expired. I emailed customer support and nothing happened but the college informed me McGrawhill was working on it because it effected several classes. After a couple weeks of nothing happening, I called the help desk located in the Philippines. I have nothing against people who speak English as a second language but I didn't buy this product in the Philippines and I don't like supporting slave labor in foreign countries for 120.00 cheaply made book. After an hour on the phone they only thing that was accomplished was re-registering my account with a temporary account not the one on the connect card and they deleted half my completed assignments for the courseware. The issue has still not been resolved and McGrawhill states the didn't know why the issue occurred. Seems if they were half as concern with the viability of the product as they are protecting the registration of their garbage courseware they wouldn't have to contract to 3rd world countries to support it.
This is a great book that really goes into details when explaining the body systems or diseases. I thought it would only be medical terminology but it really is helpful for any nursing student that wants to brush up on their biology and pharmacology. I'm definitely thinking of keeping this book, it helped me in medical terminology class and nursing classes!
Going with 3 stars it's ok as it is the same thing that their websites uses to ask all of it's questions, if you are taking this online. Hate how they are setup as it will ask you questions that the answers are not clear in the book.
I bought this book as a requirement for a class and has been very helpful even after school. The pages are thin but don't seem to rip easily. I have noticed that the outside wears over time, which is expected. It has lots of information with reviews at the end of each chapter and several exercises within the chapter. I will probably keep it to use in the future. My other classmates we pleased with it as well. I would definitely recommend if you are looking in to working in a healthcare field.
The book was in excellent condition, but as a "Brand New" book, the access code that usually comes with the "New" books was nowhere to be found. Nowhere does it state it will not be included. My only disappointment.
Great publication. Got it for my daughter's medical terminology class as a suppliment to online texts. I like that it gives opportunities to use and practice the medical language--"talk the talk" of the profession.
it's a workbook, it doesn't have anywhere to check your answers and our instructor said there isn't a teachers guide for either. How are you to know if you're getting it right????
