Normally I don't make a habit of re-reading material from a college textbook, especially one out side of my major - but this book is the exception. It is well-constructed volume of information that has real world, daily applications. I found myself really examining my own behaviors and communication skills and finding areas in need of improvement versus just reading the book because the professor assigned it.If your professor chooses this book for your class, odds are you've got a pretty good professor.

I chose this book because it is required, but honestly it is really great, all the information and knowledge that I learn in my essentials of communication class and sociology class IS IN HERE! It has a lot of goodness in it.

Came as described. I actually enjoyed this class and book quite a bit. The book was thorough in talking about the many layers of communication and I learned a good bit about myself in the course of reading the book. The books spends a good portion of time talking about the relationships behind communication as well.

I had to have this book for my class so I figured I would buy the Kindle version because it was cheaper and more convenient. When it said it was the "Kindle Version" I assumed it would work ON my Kindle. It will NOT download onto my Kindle keyboard. It works on my Kindle app for my Mac, but not my ACTUAL Kindle!!! I don't appreciate being punished for buying a Kindle keyboard instead of a Kindle fire. I will NOT be able to read this book unless I am at home!! I bought my Kindle a year or two ago for school, I thought it would be cool to use instead of carrying textbooks. IF I had known that I could have downloaded the Kindle app for my Mac for FREE and ALL the books would actually WORK on it, then I would have just done that instead and saved almost $200! I am EXTREMELY upset that this book will not work on my Kindle and only gave it one star because they won't let me give anything less. Because of this experience, I will be discouraging others to buy a Kindle.

I am in chapter 3 so far, I needed this for my class but I am finding that I like the book and I am starting to look at things more.

The first 1 or 2 chapters of this book were missing pages, I was not able to do my homework for class because of missing pages, not pleased.

I read every single chapter of this book, 400 pages, and learned NOTHING new; it was a complete waste of my time. If I'm going to read an entire textbook, I'd like to at least LEARN SOMETHING. What a joke, this book is just filled with stuff you already know via common sense.

The book did not come in the best of shape. The last chapters which i am on now are almost falling out of the book.
