This is a fairly new author for me. And this first book in the series was amazing. It was a little different from the usual MC books I read, and when I say different, I mean that in a god way. Cara gets drug to the rough biker bar by a friend. As soon as Hawk walks in she is immediately drawn to him. He helps get her out of a situation, and things heat up, but Cara freezes and things cools off quick. Hawk is determined to get to know Cara, and what Hawk wants, he gets. As VP of the Insurgents MC, he's a force to be reckoned with. There is a killer loose, doing very vial things to young pretty girls in town, no clues as to who is doing it. The MC needs help as law enforcement has their sites on taking down the club, and it just happens, they show up in Cara's law office. When face to face again, Hawk knows and feels the attraction is there and it's strong between the two of them. Cara fights it, and Hawk is persistent. She thinks she needs someone different in her life someone safe and definitely not a 1% outlaw biker. When Cara's life seems to be in danger, Hawk steps up and prepares to keep her safe at all cost.The passion in this book was amazing. And the mystery, and the intense storyline kept me glued to my kindle. I had all kinds of emotions while reading this book. How it ended, I did not see that coming. And I love a book that keeps me guessing the while way, and I love those moments when I realize it didn't end how I thot it would. Will be reading this series til the end and following this author!!!
This was a Kindle Unlimited Selection.I want to first mention that while I had problems with this book, I think the author has potential to write really good books. I almost stopped reading this book at 30%, again at 40% and again around 60%. Cara, the heroine, drove me crazy with her waffling over having a relationship with Hawk. She honestly never stopped waffling until the epilogue. Hawk and Cara weren't a couple until a little past the halfway mark in the book. Hawk wanted to be with her, he even stopped messing with the club girls; Cara didn't stop dating a man she clearly didn't like and sending Hawk mixed signals. At first I thought her reluctance was because her dad would disapprove of her dating a biker, but that wasn't it. Her dad didn't like the lawyer she was dating, and Cara didn't care what her mom thought. Her best friend thought she should be with Hawk as well. There was no real reason for the hot and cold act, and I started thinking Hawk would be better off with woman. Eventually I stopped caring about Hawk and Cara, and I was just trying to find out who the murderer was. The mystery subplot was the only reason I continued reading the story.
Maybe I just wasn't in the mood but this book did nothing for me. I had to force myself to even finish it. I never felt the "love" connection between Hawk and Cara. In fact I never felt a connection with Cara at all. She drove me crazy! Lots of readers liked it so maybe it's me.
I hate to denigrate anybody's hard work, but this was just not good. The dialogue was a little cheesy and wooden, but that didn't bother me.The grammar was okay and there were very few typos. There was a lot of foul language, but that didn't bother me either.This gets one star because I just couldn't get past the one dimensional characters or the attitude portrayed by the hero concerning women. Basically, throughout the first five chapters the author implies that women are only good for one thing - f*cking. I couldn't overlook this so I didn't finish the book.For the most part, women read romance novels; and maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think many women would have found this romantic. Whether the author is a man or woman, they need therapy or better examples of true women.
Pretty rough! Lots of foul language and rough sex. I liked the storyline. I just had a little trouble with the raunchiness of the sex, though lots of people like that! I guess....why not? I wouldn't mind a little fantasy with a motorcycke club bad boy...Son's of Anarchy had us all hooked. HAWK definitely was a Jax Teller.
I found this book for free. And, I always love a good biker story. And, I liked this one. It does have lots of cuss words and sex.Hey that is what sells in romance novels. The author brought into this story of the bad and good things that can happen in a bikers life. Things are not always so black and white when it comes to bikers. There are good ones and bad ones, just as in this book. A rich girl gets the chance to see the life of the bikers, the good and the bad of it. The bikers get to see that a rich girl can be friends with them and treat each other as family. Because that is what a bikers club is, it is family. They depend on each other through the good and the bad just as it was written in this book. This author I believe will get better in time. But, I for one totally enjoyed reading it. And, I do recommend it to others.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK. At times it gets pretty dark but the suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat. It definitely kept me guessing until th ed end. Then when it all came out in the end I cried my eyes out. Hawk is a sexy as sin big bad pass alpha biker who sets his sights on Cars. She's a petite beautiful smart sassy mouthed spitfire of an attorney and no matter how hard she tries to keep a lid on her attraction to Hawk, she finds it impossible . Their chemistry is off the charts smoking HOT! Hawk has never been so attracted to a woman before and he is in for the fight of his life. I highly recommend this book to everyone! Oh and did I say the sex is wet your panties set your crotch on fire HOT! Lol.🎉
