I needed this dictionary for a simple coding class that I am taking, but am finding it very interesting and helpful as well in explaining the details of medical illnesses and diagnoses for complications that occur during operations, etc. I am very pleased with this book. The graphics are very intense, so if you have a sensitive stomach, I wouldn't suggest getting it, but I've been in the medical field for 20+ years, so am fascinated by it. Plus, what haven't you seen on TV already, right? LOL Good luck to those of you looking for for a dictionary, but if you want something detailed and structured, this is the book for you!
Discovered it in a previous version when I was a student. Just bought this version for the "love" of it and to have around the house to answer questions in useful detail. Superb color illustrations throughout. Thorough, readable text. This'll be a lifetime "keeper".
I have used this resource even more than I expected to during my nursing school program. It is loaded with color pictures, and definitions are easy to understand. I highly recommend this medical dictionary to any health career professional or student, or any person trying to really understand what their doctor is telling them!
Excellent reference book for one starting out in the medical field in coding or billing or for anyone who just wants to expand their medical knowledge. Print is a nice size, pictures are colorful and very well placed.
This is a slight cross between textbook and dictionary. I mean, it IS a dictionary, but it also offers good illustrations/photos as well as diagrams. Pretty easy to understand and basically chock full of terms. A little over 1.5" thickness. Definitely would recommend this to a student going into the medical field in any capacity (administrative, nursing, doctor, lab tech, etc).
I'm taking an online class and I need medical definitions and it is meeting all my requirements. Easy to read and well organized, including visual examples and abbreviations.
This dictionary is everything!!!!! One of my best nursing school purchases. You won't regret purchasing it either. Has good definitions with good pictures in color.
I ordered this for my wife who is taking a class in medical coding. It is nice and she uses it daily.
