Unfortunately I could not finish this book; it does offer some witty humor, which is a nice addition to ease the pain of trying to learn complicated material, but it fails to address or explain things in a logical format. It presents information without explaining details, only to leave you confused about what you're looking at. For instance, it talks about root words, prefixes and suffixes, which is nice, but then goes on to give us a list of these prefixes and their combining vowels, but never explains what combining vowels are and what they are doing there. You're just left wondering what the heck the extra "i" and "o" are at the end of that prefix.Overall, it left me feeling that its probably a decent read, but leaves much to be desired and could possibly created a great challenge in understanding the material.
This is a great book if you need to brush up or learn medical terminology. I use this book to look up terms that I am not familiar with. Since my major didn't require a medical terminology class this book saves me!
The book was not very helpful at all if you are looking at passing the medical assistant certification. This was a waste of my money.
