Beer is easily loveable. But medieval monastic philosophers? They can easily be intimidating, even though they shouldn't be.In this short, pithy book, Matt Fradd makes arguably the greatest mind in the history of the church as easily accessible as your favorite beer. You'll laugh, you'll say "Aha!," and ultimately, you'll discover that this old school philosopher's wisdom is very much fresh and relevant to the problems and questions of modern man.Do yourself a favor and get a copy of this enlightining little book. Then pour a frothy pint and dig in. You'll be glad you did!
If you've ever tried to read Aquinas, or really delve into any moral philosophical writings, or actually even had deep moral questions, this book is what you've been waiting for. It's a professional paraphrasing of some of the Summa Theologica's greatest questions, accessible for the lay person without a doctorate in theology. Matt Fradd's style bleeds through from his podcast of the same name.Short, easy, and best experienced over a pint of your favorite brew.
Matt Fradd compiles St. Aquinas' best arguements and allows the reader to simply glide through them without feeling overwhelmed. This book is well thought out, well organized, and the cover is beautifully illustrated. I also recommend that potential buyers listen to Matt's podcast, which shares the same name as the book's title.Drink 'em down, turn those pages, and open your mind and heart to the genius that is Aquinas.
Matt's Unique ability to take philosophy that's hundreds of years old and make it applicable to my life as a millennial is great. This book is a great addition to his podcast, "Pints with Aquinas."
