In recent years emails have become the dominant form of communication and people rarely have to write anymore. The downside is when people actually do have to put pen to paper a lot of people especially the younger generation have terrible and sometimes unreadable handwriting. Handwriting is still an important skill especially so when it comes to things such as applications forms for a job or higher education. This book has loads of great easy to follow tips that build upon one another in each step. In information is sound practical and well laid out. An excellent book for anyone young and old alike who wants to improve their handwriting.
We were discussing at dinner with friends the other night that they don't even teach basic handwriting skills in most schools anymore. I was commenting that my high school aged child had pretty poor penmanship and this is largely due to our electronic age. Even I don't write much by hand anymore and have gotten sorely out of practice. Margaret Shepherd's book is a great guide on improving handwriting with advice, from basic to advanced, that can either get you started with handwriting or get you back on your game. This has helped me improve my skills immensely and we have been working on my son's as well.
For the person who is clueless about penmanship, this is okay. I was hoping to get more info about the mechanics of forming the letters. Some of it my be that as a "choir-member", I bought a book about sermons.

The guide is easy to follow and one cannot get lost, if you have a problem with your handwriting then this is the book for you.
This is the exact same book as Improve Your Handwriting: A Practical Guide to Better Penmanship by Mary J. Bride. I purchased both. But because of such a cheesy business model, I returned both. They didn't hit the mark anyway. Sad.
