Great guide for any professional in the medical field. I am a Clinical Microbiologist and when reviewing antibiograms, I find the Sanford Guide a very helpful aide, and very easy to use. A must have for a clinical microbiologist!

I've been using Sanford ever since med school. It's a great quick reference, and I order a new one every year. It takes a minute to get used to if you've never used it, but once you do, you won't go to work without it!

I have used this little gem for fifteen + years. It is widely, almost universally, accepted among doctors as reliable, quick, and complete. Any practicing physician who prescribes antibiotics and treats a variety of infectious diseases should have a current copy of Sanford's.

This little book is a must have for any resident, intern or practicing physician, those in the primary care fields in particular.

Which antibiotic for yersinia diarrhea? for a diabetic with cellulitis? And a non-diabetic with cellulitis? I showed up my chief with this book when I was a medical student. Don't let people get the wrong drugs. Get this. This book is faster than your epocrates and it doesn't require charging at the end of the day.Yes - you've memorized the answers for the boards, but please don't use those answers to actually treat patients... use the CURRENT guidelines found here in this book.Otherwise, you'll become one of those outdated old malpracticing doctors who hasn't learned anything new since the dinosaurs roamed the earth long before the discovery of DNA. Please don't be like them. Stay current. Buy this book every year (or so) and use it lovingly.

I can't do rounds unless I have this with me. I feel bare without it! It's good to have the latest edition.

Nothing new: this is a must for all primary care doctors. This has long become THE source of guidelines for antimicrobial treaments, yet small enough to fit in a white coat pocket. It is a little bigger and heavier this year. But, what can we say: there are more necessary information. I'd rather have a bigger book than dealing with smaller characters.

Larger format much easier to read, yet still pocket size. Very reliable and up to date. Addresses lyme disease, STD's , MRSA. Gives alternatives for patients with allergies. I've been using this for 20 years and still appreciate its concise, reliable information. Even though the web has emerged, I still like having a print version at my fingertips.
