Some books are hard to follow. "The Grapes of Wrath" is long, but entrancing. Finishing it more a matter of time than struggle.Granted, Steinbeck's description of the immense dust overtaking Oklahoma might seem overdone, but it sets the environment from which Tom Joad is leaving. It puts the grape fields in perspective.Read "Cliff Notes" if you're in a jam, and need to get the gist of the real book in your system. However, if you have the time, read all 600+ pages of Steinbeck's magnificent story. Be engaged by Joad and his tender family as they plod across America and into dire and complex California grape fields.I recommend Steinbeck's the Grapes of Wrath (Cliffs Notes) as an addition to the full book, not as a replacement.Anthony Trendl

Even after multiple readings of "The Grapes of Wrath," these Cliff Notes are invaluable in helping to refresh your memory about the flow of the lengthy novel. No substitute, of course, for indepth reading of the book, but a helpful summary and aid to analysis.

Good explanation on the various chapters in the book and how the authors integrated the story with political analysis of the financial struggles in the farming industry during the 1930's

A very helpful guide in understanding the authors metaphors regarding the importance of individuals uniting in the face of adversity in order to conquer loss and hardship.

read this first you will get a better understanding of the Grapes of Wrath. there are lots of things you will miss for sure if you just read the book

I was using this to help me better understand the book. I read each chapter synopsis as I read the book and I thought that it helped tremendously.

Good to read to get deeper meaning to the book. Tells me things I didn't pick up on just reading the book.

It is a helpful information for you understand some point of the plot that you dont have it at once.
