Before I purchased this educational script, I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I've always dreamed of learning the Latin language but have always struggled with finding a reliable text that can properly teach me the fundamentals of Latin language. But when I recieved Mr. Linney's Getting Started with Latin: Beginning Latin for Homeschoolers and Self-Taught Students of Any Age I knew I was in the right place.I am 19 years old and currently serving with the US Army in Iraq. Over the past month I have ravished this book for every detail of the structure of the Latin language I possibly could. What I found was that, being self taught by the way, by the end of my one month time frame and one go through the book, I was able to formulate, translate, and speak the basics of the Latin language.From what many of you are saying, yes it's true, this book does lack many of the stronger points in the written Latin language. But the book is what it says. Would you rather have a book 500 pages long with thousands of grammer and pronunciation lessons scattered through out it's pages in a nonsensical and disorderly fashion that only some college graduates can understand, or, a book that gives you a strong foundation for starting you journy into one of the worlds most elegant and historic languages?
