This is an indispensable asset. The organization of the book makes it easy to quickly review concepts/procedures. Plus it's almost compact enough to carry with you for reading anywhere.Also very useful in preparing for the state boards, has many of those tricky questions.
This book did an awesome job in preparing me for the NCLEX-PN exam! I passed it on the 1st try. I daily used this book, and it was so easy to take the book with me because of its small size and being light weight! It also has very similiar questions to the NCLEX exam! STUDY, STUDY, STUDY and review the rationles and you'll be sure to pass:) great item!
As a vocational nursing instructor, I use this book at every clinical post conference. The questions and rationales lead to lively input from the students and challenge their critical thinking abilities. Very handy and extremely helpful!
I only completed half of the book, but the information in the book was really helpful. With God's grace I walked out of the test knowing that I did well with 85 questions. I passed my NCLEX the first time April 2014 with the help of this book, Kaplan q bank, and Saunder's. This book helped to review information I thought I knew and provided me with information that I had not learned from any of my other sources. This book has some alternative format questions!!!My tips:1. read and complete as many questions as you can from whatever source (Saunders comes with online access and you can select the content of questions and the format)(I did a lot of check all that apply, hot spots, and order questions to prepare)2. get an unused notebook and write down all of the rationales you are unsure of and/or get wrong3. lookup and review all of the answer choices for understanding4. go over them daily and a day or two before your test.
I found this flashcard book to be a tremendous help with studying for my NCLEX exam. It features 350 questions that cover all of the major testing categories, as well as detailed rationales for the answers. The answers are listed on the back of each "flashcard." What I like most about this book is its practicality and easy-to-read format that allows for a quick fix when on the go. It's perfect to read on a long flight; I managed to go through the whole book on a 4 hour flight recently. It's important to get your hands on as much study material as possible when preparing for the NCLEX, but this book is best for keeping one's skills sharp....an invaluable resource that gives you confidence for the big exam.
This book/flash card is really great to take with you anywhere and review while you have a minute of down time. On average there were 1-2 questions per page. The questions were not crammed together and the answer to those questions were on the back of the page so you could think about the answer without the tempation of looking down the page to get the answer because it was there. The explanation and reasoning would help you understand why the answer was the right one and why the others were "less right" or wrong. Helped me to do more critical thinking rather than reasonable thinking. I realized that after I took the NCLEX that the style of questions were like the ones in this book. This book helped me more with my exam than the other practice books, CD's, study groups, etc. did. Other classmates of mine borrowed it and we all passed our exam. Great book to have to build your confidence and knowledge when you are preparing for the NCLEX.
I bought this book to help me for my LPN state boards and also to help me through my second year of nursing. I love it! I no longer make flashcards and misplace them or forget about them. This books has "flashcards" and answer on the back. I would recommend this book!
