The books in the "My First Bilingual Book (English-Italian)" series have colorful, good quality images, sturdy pages, and the size is relatively small. These are great books for households where both parents don't speak Italian, since they provide the word in both Italian and English. The only downside (for the whole series) is that it's not a story book, it's a dictionary/flashcard style book, so it can sometimes be difficult to hold a baby/toddler's attention with this. With the limited Italian bilingual material out there, I would still highly recommend them. The the "Colors-I Colori," along with My First Bilingual Book-Numbers (English-Italian), are the best in the series as they also show vocabulary for nouns that are the color being taught on that page.
I bought this book for my 7 month old daughter and I'm super pleased with it. Each 2-page spread is a single color with several items on those pages that are in that color. My daughter is obviously not reading yet, but the pages really capture her attention and the size is great for her to hold. Even without the Italian translations this would be a great learning book, but they give it one useful more dimension. I bought the Animals version from this publisher, but I like this one far better. I will probably be buying a couple more!
One of my little guy's favorites! The pictures are bright, and contrasted on the white background, and its so fun to be able to teach him the names of things in the language of our homeland. He loves to point at the different items, and my (non-Italian speaking) husband is learning some names of things too. We provide our little guy with many books, both in English and Italian, but he brings this one to us consistently for some reading time.
I love this book and so does my two year old. We are in the process of learning Italian and this book is so simple and has bright vibrant pictures that she loves. I plan on getting more bilingual books from this publisher.
My daughters love this book. It gives the colour on one side and on the other has things that are that colour, and translates each one. Bright pictures and not over crowded. The number book is the same way. Very cute!
Bought this for my new nephew as a baby shower gift. He will be learning in several languages so this was a cute gift idea.
