The Great English-Polish Dictionary has been prepared by a team of linguists from the largest online dictionary, ling.pl, lead by Prof. Marcin Milkowski, Ph.D. and Prof. Dariusz Jemielniak, Ph.D. It is the largest English-Polish dictionary ever published. It contains over 1.8 million words, covering hundreds of thousands of meanings in over two hundred thousand definitions, includign abbreviations, synonyms, antonyms, et al. Its range is over 20% wider than in the case of any dictionary published before.It is also the first English-Polish dictionary developed in the 21st century, basing on actual English language usage and frequencies (based on corpora of American, British, and Canadian English), covering not only general vocabulary, but also terminology and idioms typical for business, finance, law, medicine, the sciences and technology, including over 150 disciplines! It is the first English-Polish dictionary including words such as QWERTY, screenager, smartphone, tablet or boccia, with their proper pronunciation. The dictionary can replace the standard Kindle e-reader dictionary, to allow one-click lookups (please, note that this functionality is typical for all Kindle e-readers, but not necessarily a tablet).

Bardzo dobry słownik dla osób czytających angielskie książki. Dobrze działa w trybie podstawowym Kindle (bardzo czytelna prezentacja), aby dotrzeć do idiomów niestety czasem trzeba wejść w tryb 'More/Open dictionary' i wtedy widać dopiero pełne bogactwo tego słownika. Jak na mój gust to najlepszy słownik ang-pol na Kindle, wart swojej ceny. Znakomicie rozpoznaje formy czasownikowe i trafnie wyświetla główne hasło.
I read in English a lot and I've been in need of a good English-Polish dictionary for a while. This one is fantastic! Rarely any word is missing, and the definitions provided give not just the simplest meanings, but also the advanced ones (ok, I admit I am too lazy to click for "more" from the first screen most of the time, but when I do, I am really glad I did). One thing that would be really cool would be the possibility to save searched words and review them in a form of flashcards...
Comprehensive and broad English-Polish dictionary, perfect for non native English speakers. I am currently reading a quite technical, but at the same time colloquial book about motorcycles, written by a journalist. The dictionary helps me to understand the technical terms related to a motorcycle's behavior on the road as well as the less serious expressions related to some bikers' behavior and thoughts ;) If an expression is not obvious, I can easily switch to the monolingual Oxford dictionary and check the other meanings of these words, but apparently the list of terms in this English-Polish dictionary is exhaustive - this wasn't necessary so far.
Great dictionary, It's literally, my favourite thing on kindle. Although I can understand and speak english very well, I wasn't really reading books in this language, so of course I never knew some of typical words you can see only in written language. Comfort of just touching the word on the screen and discovering its meaning in a moment just like that is worth everything.
I am very happy that someone prepared such great tool to translate so many fantastic books which have been written in English first 😊 . amazing tool. Imponent. Great work. In my own opinion. Lot of fun.
Definitely the best English-Polish dictionary for Kindle there is. Very useful when dealing with vague or ambiguous definition often found in monolingual dictionaries. Congrats to the editors and two thumbs up!
This is the most comprehensive English-Polish dictionary I've seen. Previously my favourite was PWN-Oxford, but this one seems bigger (also, it is well integrated with Kindle, which obviously is a huge bonus). I wish it was possible to select more than one word, though - so far only single headwords can be searched. But this probably is more of Kindle's fault than of the dictionary itself, which, as stated, is truly superb.
The impression is generally that this is great dictionary. After few weeks of using it on my Kindle I have found it both accurate and functional. It's the terrific tool while reading English language publications on Kindle. Congratulations to Dariusz Jemileniak, the author!
