I currently work for a new company entering the wound care market. I am also a registered nurse and have broad experience in multiple inpatient and outpatient areas of healthcare. I can say with complete confidence, that this guide is the best tool for use by anyone interested in understanding wound care and the products that fill the marketplace. There are great disease state overviews, assessment criteria and therapuetic intervention for promotion of wound health. Additionally, the catagorization of each type of therapy into subgroups allows the product knowledge to be easily understood and quantified. I believe this guide to be a tremendous resource for health care providers or anyone who wants to understand more about the growing concerns and costs of wound therapy.

I like this book. That being said, I use it as a reference from time to time. The products listed give good information BUT they don't list any secondary dressings or other options. ( this would be extremely helpful, especially as a home health nurse I often have to substitute things). The documentation portion and rationale is really good.

Good, depending on what you need. If you're looking for spiral bound reference material to look up different types of dressings and how they work, this is the book for you. Unfortunately this was not what I needed, but I will add it to my collection of reference materials I keep on the bookshelf as part of my job as an RN at the rehabilitation hospital.

I have been using this book for years. The first few chapters are a general review of the basic science of skin and wounds. Two thirds of the book give concise reviews of the plethora of wound care products, category by category. This is a terrific book. This edition includes a section on VAC therapy.

I purchased this book to help with my prep for certification. I was disappointed to find that out of 591 pages, over 400 pages were devoted to individual dressings and products and their pros, cons, applications, and removals. It seems that a discussion on the categories of the different types of products, with a listing and maybe a picture of the individual brand names, would have been just as helpful and more time could have been devoted to actual wound care teaching and review.

I cannot say that I found this book at all helpful. It was more about the dressing products available and not really very much on wound or skin care.

A must have for any wound care nurse working in a wound care clinic or in home care. A great guide to wound care and all the documentation requirements, step by step plans of care. All the product knowledge any nurse could ask for in one location.

This book will come with me to my first nursing job in case I need to review something quick before a procedure. It seems a little wordy with long explanations but that isn't why I bought it. It should serve my purposes well.
