Textbook is a fine primary care reference but don't count on INKLING to provide seamless interactive / electronic content...Primary Care Medicine Seventh Edition by Goroll and Mulley is a reasonably comprehensive and clear reference source for adult primary care providers. My only complaint with the text itself is that the editors have chosen to separate screening and management for the same medical condition into different chapters which is a somewhat disjointed way to present a topic. However, my largest complaint with this text is that INKLING, the entity responsible for managing the e-content of this book is useless. I already owned the 6th edition of this book which was accessible online through Point. I bought the 7th edition not only for the updated material but also for the enhanced electronic content. However, I have been unable to access the electronic content since I purchased the text. After several calls to Wolters Kluwer customer service and the reassignment of a new redemption code, I was finally able to see the textbook in My Library. However, when I attempted to open the electronic text, I only had online access to Chapter 1. When attempting to open any other chapter, a message was displayed stating that I did NOT own the chapter and would I like to buy it...I own the whole book! Unable to find a phone number for INKLING Customer Service, I called Wolters Kluwer back. They informed me that they do not own the electronic content and that I would have to EMAIL INKLING customer service because Inkling does NOT have a phone number! They suggested that I state in my email that Wolters Kluwer has assigned a new code and all they need to do is OPEN UP ACCESS for the ENTIRE book to me. Simple enough, right? WRONG.

Material of the text is very well-written and informative; however, the Kindle version is incredibly difficult to navigate. If your professor assigns readings by page number, then the Kindle version will be especially exasperating as it is not laid out by pages. The text formats itself to your screen, if you search for something, the layout of the text changes for that item to be the first thing on your screen. Of course, you'll probably want to read the rest of the sentence that item is in, so when you scroll back a page, the text again reformats itself to its typical ordering, thus losing the item you are trying to read about.Searching for items is annoying in general. 1. You have to type it out exactly as it is found in the book. An error of a letter will yield no results. 2. Results aren't shown by chapter topic which would be helpful; they're just shown in the context of the sentence, which is often not enough to discern where you should start. The graphics given in the text cannot be expanded to a full page. I have no idea why. I tried even messing with sizing of the fonts to see if it would increase graphics but it actually made them smaller. Many of these graphics have incredibly small text and there is no way to increase their size, not even through my laptop zooming (which you can't do while in Kindle). Also, while in Kindle, you can't minimize the Kindle window, so that you can use it while using another program. This would be awesome to be able to do while taking notes on Word and reading the text on Kindle, but there is no way to do so. Instead you have to toggle in and out of Kindle to get to Word. Ugh.Kindle allows you to bookmark items, but just as in search, they are not organized in any way except where they are found in the text.
