The best tool I've found for assessing reading. With previous measures, I've been able to find an accurate reading level for my students. These tools - especially the CORE Phonics assessment - help me to pinpoint the exact strengths and weaknesses.

I bought a used version that was "good" and it really was worth the price. I have already used several of the lessons with my K-5 students. There are also assessments that are applicable for my Jr. High students.
This book has informative quick assessments that any educator can use in the classroom. I am a resource teacher for second and third graders and use these assessments all the time to both screen and progress monitor my students.
