Wonderful and helpful words for second grade. On one side there is a blank with a picture describing the word in question, and on the other side is the word itself spelled out. When I used this with my son, we would play a "game" and I would show him the card, and we would see how many words he could guess correctly..But, since, reading is his weakness, I would simply show him the side with the word written on it, and have him just "read" it out loud. There are a variety of ways you could use these cards. I homeschool , and you can use these any way you want..I highly recommend these.
These cards are great aids for my first grade tutee as he is very advanced in first grade. These flashcards will assist him during spring break and during the summer as he loves to learn.With the support of his parents and older brother, Diego is very mature and advanced and motivated to learn. Do not get me wrong, but Diego also loves to play/fight with his brother. Yes, that is what siblings do when not kept busy. And their mother ensures that the boys keep busy with games, books, and educational toys. Those activities probably keep the noise level down too!These flash cards will be so helpful for Diego
We drive our children to and from school, about 20 minutes each way. I found these to be excellent for challenging them to know the word, and spell the word. I think the difficulty of words is not 2nd grade, but lower - First grade/Kindergarten. Most words are 4 and 5 letter words. There is a picture on one side without the word, so we have them guess the word. Sometimes you need to give a clue or ryhme so they choose the correct word, and then we have them spell the word after they guess it. It entertains them, and gets their mind going first thing in the morning while having fun competing.Yes, the cards are very thin, but since the adults handle the cards, I don't find it a problem. The correct spelling for the word is on the back side of the card, and because they are so thin, you do have to cover the back with your hand so they are visible to them. This is where thicker paper would have been really nice. The price is very good at less than $10 - $7.99 at Costco. We found that it really helps their spelling abilities, especially our Kindergartner.The 3rd grade cards are much different in difficulty and concept. They are more like traditional spelling cards with the word and the meaning - there are no pictures. I like these too. We will use them next year.
My nephew needed the set to help him increase his skill set. He has been struggling slightly in his reading skills so I purchased as a gift to him and his mom loves it! She says it is very easy and the cards attract him.
I would love to give these cards 5 stars but I cant for the price of the cards these cards are extremely flimsy feels like construction paper. However the concept is good so I dont regret my purchase.
These cards are great as a learning tool i use them for my son which helps alot with his spelling there are alot of cards that come in the package which means your child has a broad spectrum of words to explore
These Flashcards are great practice materials in it to keep my child sharp, good for summer assignments or for additional work during the school year!Good quality, shipped quickly!
Time for the 3rd grade set! We love the pictures so she can see what I'm saying as we do our spelling tests. We homeschool and they're very handy.
