So, I am trying to tackle "Common Core!" Don't get me wrong, I don't mind CC, but unlocking/understanding the standards for myself AND making them accessible to general ed and special ed students has proved to be a difficult task. Well, Dr Linder has somehow found a way to turn Common Core into Common Sense. I have a copy of this book and her CC guidebook, and to be completely honest it is my go to when I am creating daily lesson plans/unit plans, AND I also use the resources when I tutor after school! Get this book, make HUGE versions of the charts, and watch your students refer to them! I even catch my students with significant learning disabilities referring to the charts... Good Job Dr. Linder...keep the books coming!!! Thanks.

This latest book from Dr. Roz Linder is a valuable resource to any classroom teacher. The systematic way she organizes the book is a true representation of how to scaffold readers in the classroom. The photographs provide a visual that ALL teachers want to see! Without a doubt, if teachers use this book to support their ELA standards the shared learning experience will support any type of learner. The instructional connection is clear to enhance the literary and informational standards. As a teacher who has used anchor charts for several years, the children feel more connected to the instruction they helped create. I can't wait to share this with fellow teachers!

Dr. Linder understands the demands on teachers. Her book is very easy to navigate and implement. The anchor charts are easy, clear, and helpful to students and teachers. She is also an amazing trainer!

I was just hired in a new district as the sole 8th grade ELA teacher. I have taught seventh grade for the past seven years and with the Common Core implementation and prescribed lessons/units in my old district, I was near terrified of the daunting task of not only learning the subtle yet vital differences between the 7th and 8th grade standards, but needing to teach those standards based on my own lessons. This book may have saved my career! I went through it with sticky notes and highlighters. I felt like I got a crash course in teaching 8th grade ELA! The charts, lesson ideas, and resources that Dr. Linder provides are easy to understand and make sense of the intricate language of Common Core. Cannot recommend this book enough to any ELA teacher of grades 3-8. I would also recommend it to social studies and science teachers who are often required to incorporate more writing and reading instruction into their lessons without being given the proper time/instruction themselves. You do not need to be an ELA teacher to understand Dr. Linder. Awesome resource!!

I am in love with this book. Students are such visual learners and this book is full of charts to help cement learning in students' minds in respect to the Common Core Standards of Literature and Informational Text. I guarantee this is a book that will be on my desk daily as I look for appropriate charts to guide my students through all of the anchor standards for reading.

Anchor charts have become a staple in classrooms. So many of us spend countless hours searching on pinterest for just the perfect chart that will capture our students attention and engage them in the topic. This book is like taking all of the best charts from pinterest and putting them in one book. Then add in the K-2 how to make great charts book (can't remember the name of it off of the top of my head right now) and you will know what the contents of this book are. I recommend a copy of this be available for all teachers to use as a resource. Love it!

I purchased this book for myself, and just purchased another for our professional book collection at school. It is thoroughly aligned to and organized by the CCSS. I know the teachers I work with are going to be thrilled to have it as a resource.

Just started reading this book. Easy read, excellent lesson ideas and wonderful charts!! This book will be my bible next year!!!
