SALE! Normal Retail Price $12.50 Homeschooling curriculum for spelling and science in one fun book! This workbook is designed to be used by beginner readers, struggling readers and children with dyslexia. This is a delightful workbook for dyslexic students. "This is the PERFECT little spelling book for any child that is hesitant in reading!! It's a super fun, smaller size that they can take anywhere with them. I read each poem 3-4 times with my 9 yr old and he shades in the spelling words, or colors them with each letter being a different color. He LOVES drawing out the habitat for the animals. Just in reading out the few poems, my son is reading them himself and has become more confident in his reading abilities." - Melba This book teaches children about 21 wild animals and introduces them to 100 words that they need to learn to spell by age 10. This book is perfect for dyslexic students because it uses art, logic and coloring to help them learn to spell several sight words that are hard for dyslexics students to remember. This book is created by Anna Brown and Sarah Janisse Brown - the author and developers of Dyslexia Games Therapy. A workbook, coloring book and activity book for teaching and homeschooling children with serious reading and spelling problems. Find all Anna & Sarah's Fun-Schooling Books at www.FunSchoolingBooks.com Anna is the author of the animal poems in this book and she the artist who created all the animals drawings. Fun Schooling. Word games. Read, write and spell. 100 words that every child should master by age 10. An animal coloring book. Super cute book. I am new to homeschooling, only one year in but the previous curriculum we were using was not working for us. I am very drawn to a Charlotte Mason and unschooling approach and in my research I found these fun schooling books. They have been perfect for us and changed our homeschooling for the better. This little book is perfect for little hands and does not take but a few minutes to do a page or two each day. Repetition is key in this approach and this book does a good job of that.

Awesome spelling book! My daughter is not a child that sits still for anything, especially seatwork, but this book has captured her! She loves that you get to color and doodle along with the 'real work'. It is a small book but it's packed with great activities that seem to truly engage kids!

I was initially very excited to get this book for my home schooled 1st grade daughter. She has low motivation to read (she much prefers math and science), but enjoys drawing and coloring. When I opened the package, I was surprised to see that this book is tiny! It's the size of a small paperback book. I somehow missed in the description that this is a MINI book, my fault for not paying attention when ordering it. My daughter struggles with fine motor skills, and working out of this small book is impossible for her. She can't hold the book open and draw and color at the same time. I decided to lay the book down flat and photocopy it two pages at a time and then put the photocopies in a binder for her to lay flat and work on. This works perfectly! (Though now I bought the book AND have to use paper and ink up in order to use it....).The actual work in this book is perfect for my daughter. In the very first poem, she could read several of the sight words, which made her thrilled! She felt very confident in an area she usually struggles. She loves coloring in the words, and adding to the pictures. I have finally found a learning to read material she doesn't get frustrated with! This makes my homeschooling mom heart very happy!I just wish the book were bigger and spiral bound for small hands that might struggle with fine motor skills. You can see in my attached photo how easy it is for my daughter to use the book once it is photocopied to a reasonable size and able to lay flat.

This is a wonderful book for beginning readers! I purchased one and when it arrived immediately bought another one so my 7 & 9 year old can each have their own copy. It's such a cute size, like a chapter book. I'm really looking forward to sitting down with the 2 of them and watching them learn together in such a fun way! Thank you Anna Miriam Brown for creating such a fun book to teach reading, writing, & words!

My animal loving daughter is using this. She is quite right brain dominant in her learning style and it is unusual to find a good spelling book that fits her learning style! She also dislikes reading and yet has enjoyed the short poems in here and this is her favorite book for our poetry tea times.

Really clever book which focuses on "sight" words, common word which don't obey phonics rules. Reading for my 5yo daughter is like pulling teeth, but with this book she looks forward the exercises and drastically increased the number of words read even on the first day. I highly recommend this book to anyone with a child who struggles with reading/writing. As another reviewer noted, there are some proofreading issue where a word goes off the page or an incorrect # of blanks were provided in one of the games, but these don't detract from the success of the book. My daughter also really like the animal theme and the pictures on the cover.

What's Inside? Look at the pictures! Cute animals! Dyslexic font!

I ordered 4 other Thinking Tree books for my older, middle school home schoolers and the publishers threw this book in as a bonus! My youngest son was so excited there was a book for him! I added this book to his other curriculum and he loves it! Every day he wants to do it before his other "boring" schoolwork, so I often have to hold it back as a reward for finishing his other schoolwork. I will probably purchase another copy for my granddaughter! :)
