This book is the go to for PACU nursing. Information is clear concise and easy to find in this book. I am studying for CPAN and CAPA and this book is the main resource along with the ASPAN Core Curriculum.
This is a great reference for the perianesthesia nurse, lots of great information with a critical care focus. Frequently updated, I am thrilled that it now available for my Kindle.
This is a great expanded verision. If you have aprevious version you need this one for reference for perianesthesia.Current information, easy to understand, and a needed resource.
Some of the chapters are written by anesthesiologists and other physicians and educators and are way, way too in depth for what a PACU nurse needs to know to do the job. Some chapters are written and read as though the author is giving a lecture at med school. The chapters are written by many different presenters. The chapters written by nurses are much more helpful for studying for CPAN certification.
Drain's is a classic resource from the first edition to the present. Always the most current information for your evidence-based practice.
Excellent source for any surgery nurse even if you don't do critical cases. Good info for post anesthesia care. R
I purchased this book in preparation for my PACU preceptorship. This book is very thorough and explains things clearly. I am not a fan of textbooks usually, but this one I will be a permanent resident in my nursing library!!!
This book is chock full of info. I'm using it to study for my CPAN. Not sure how I'm going to retain all of this stuff, but at least I know where I can get the info.
