Very comprehensive, it starts of with non-anesthesiology subjects, like legal advice, physician-pacient relationship, history of anesthesiology. When it came to the proper subject it is richly described, understandable, deep, and very "catchy", don't get me wrong, but most textbooks get me tired after a few hours of reading, but this one just keeps me going.

This was a gift for my son as he completed his medical residency as an anesthesiologist. He was thrilled and said it was the perfect gift for him!

This has been the authoritative book on anesthesiology for nearly a century and no one else comes close. If you want to know EVERYTHING about anesthesia or the practice of anesthesiology or anesthetist, this is your best guide.

Miller's Anesthesia, 2-Volume Set,

Very useful during crna school. They spend a lot of time on the shelf, but when I've needed them the material is great.

Learning anesthesiology is the culmination of any medical career. That is because everything you have learned about biochemistry, organic chemistry, physics, genetics, molecular and cell biology, biotechnology, bioethics, and surgical procedures are all vital in this field. Even if it is not the health career path you have chosen, the knowledge gained about the bio-kinetics and pharmacology will help you succeed in any health-related field. And it will always be a procedure you will be a part of constantly. From the E.R., invasive or noninvasive surgical procedure, and even a routine checkup the knowledge contained in this book will help you succeed and be a better practitioner. And it is without a doubt that the go-to fountain of knowledge for this subject is this masterpiece. In layman's terms, it is a summary of everything you learned in high school, undergrad, and graduate school. The exhaustive information and detailed mechanisms are unsurpassed. It's ease of finding specific information on-the-spot is excellent. It should definitely be on everyone's book shelf that works in any health-related field.

I bought this copy to improve my knowledge in this field, as I an intern in this area. Unfortunately, the first section I read (Physiology of respiration; gas exchange in the Lungs) was not complete, as it ended explaining the concepts from central venous and mixed venous oxygen saturation and content and did not talk at all about the exchanges that happen in the alveole. I am sure that this is a mistake of the Kindle version of this fantastic book, and that Saunders will correct it as soon as possible. I sadly had to return my copy.
