This textbook is a perfect starting point for someone learning Perioperative TEE. I didn't have a background in TEE when I first read it and it seemed dense. However, I did a rotation in Cardiac Anesthesia, then re-read it and it has everything you need to understand Perioperative TEE. This book was also the foundation for studying for the Advanced Perioperative TEE boards, which I passed. Perrino/Reeves Essential Cases is a good companion when preparing for the Exam.
Very thorough, yet not too long. Also read the previous edition, and new edition is improved. Very helpful for Board review.
Practical to read, good videos online, and good questions at the end of each chapter. Good for beginners. L l
