I bought this to teach a student in Moscow. There are a lot of things I like about it. For example, each chapter has a section for recognition practice (choose the word you hear) and dictation practice. The accompanying CDs make it easy for the student to work independently of the teacher.I used this in conjunction with "Mastering the American Accent" which I like because it offers MORE practice sentences which are more challenging than those in "Pronounce it Perfectly". Also, "Mastering the American Accent" has a section in the back, which tells you which sounds to focus on for each language group. This makes it easier to put together a syllabus.So, 4 stars. A good book, but I like to use it with a second source.
