I have read earlier books by Pearson--they were good, but this book is spectacular. As a classroom teacher, I appreciate the supplements that come with the book. My students responded very well to the first six chapters and to the public speaking chapters.

It is a good book. It is an old version but it worked for the Speech Communication class that I was in. I earned an A. I kept the book as a part of my library because it can be useful for speech writing, how to approach an audience, research tips, etc. I think it may have cost $10.00 and only because I wanted it during that week. It may have been $3.00 otherwise.

Similar to the review below, I find this book invaluable every time I teach COMS 101 or its equivalent. Not only does the book offer a wealth of information pertaining specifically to the study and field of Communication, but it offers a great deal of visceral information to supplement its core material interesting anecdotes and digressions. The supplemental material proves to be useful in *waking students up* to the lectures at hand.

The book makes some useful speech points, but most of it is clear common sense, even the professor admits it lacks a lot and is really a primer for objective thought, and in that sense it does its job. It also has inappropriate political undertones, so take everything it says about social context with a grain of salt.

The content was fine-needed for a college class. But "gently used" was not how I would discribed this water damaged, pages falling out and out of order book. It was very overpriced for a falling apart overused book.

Human Communication delivers exactly what it says, a book detailing the in's and out's of having an a conversation with someone. The book goes into great detail about the various types of communcation, such as non-verbal and body language, and explaining how it can help or harm the message you are trying to deliver. Overall, the book delivers on what it's trying to explain and is worth the money.

The book i got is definitely on it's last leg. the binding is falling apart so flipping through the first couple of chapters was a struggle. The first couple of chapters were also highlighted and written on but it's not that bad actually kind of helped me study a little bit.

Very informative text without overloading on unnecessary information. Having already taken a couple college-level composition classes, this is a nice reinforcement/refresher of some basic knowledge.
