These maps are very handy and well designed. Simple to manage in terms of opening and closing and as far as I can tell accurate. If you are reading this, obviously you have access to a good deal more information with Google maps. I like to use these just to get a general idea of the lay of the land and then plot a route on Google. They also come in handy if you happen to feel the need to deviate from a planned route and you are one of the few neanderthals like me who have yet to upgrade to an iPhone with Google maps at the ready anywhere anytime. Highly recommended.
Great map series. I highly recommend any state map of this type! For one that uses good old fashion paper maps, this product is for you.I also use these to confirm what my GPS says! Nothing like redundancy!! I have used the free state maps you get from welcome centers or other venues when travelling & had problems with them tearing along the folds or simply wearing out. This eliminates this problem. These maps should last indefinitely & with the economy tanking, I don't expect any radical changes or many new hwys to be built in the near future. However should there be new highways, these maps could easily be drawn on with any marker to modify the map. Great product & well worth the $$!!Additionally, I am a motorcyclist that does 1-3 long distance trips a year & usually solo. I have about 20+ various states worth of these maps because they are really durable, waterproof (a must on a motorcycle!) & you can fold them up repeatedly to the specific section you are interested in. Space is a premium on any bike but I make room for these maps in my grip. Even if you aren't a motorcyclist, these maps are great cause they won't rip! Buy em!
I am so glad to have this! Salt Lake City confuses me! Paper maps are getting so difficult to find now that everyone THINKS that everyone is using online maps or GPS. But we are usually up in the mountains when we suddenly have questions about a little side road or what county we are in and real maps are what we want! We recently got back from a trip to California where we could NOT find paper maps of the state anywhere - so my new advice is order your maps before you leave home.
Folding map very convenient, waterproof, well made. However, this map does not have too much detail, all you see are the main highways, main roads, and even then, you will need a magnifying glass in order to see it well.
These are awesome maps. They are very nice and fold up nice. I love it that you can draw on them to show your route. Got them for my husband for trips on the Harley. Very, very cool. they are very compact and just right for Motorcycles.
Rand McNally has always made excellent road maps and travel atlases. But I needed something to be used during my motorcycle trips that would stand up to inclement weather without being damaged. I will say I love these plastic coated maps. They fold up really easily, don't get all tangled because of the wind and are very clear and bright. You can even use a dry-erase marker to highlight areas of interests or routes. They cost a little more and are not extremely detailed, but for using them to route a motorcycle trip and having them easy to grab, use and put away even in wet conditions is perfect. I use a GPS, but I still carry maps every time I ride. I own one of these maps for every Western State and every state I plan on visiting.These are great.5 Stars without any hesitation!!!
These are great maps in the respect that you cannot tear them and you can fold as needed without destroying the map. Bad in that it is a condensed map and not a full map. Not all roads are shown or labeled. Good for quick reference for main roads.
We purchased this map to use for our trip from Atlanta to St. George, Utah for the annual marathon. We fly into Las Vegas and used the map for the week prior to the race to explore Nevada and Utah. Good map.
