Very detailed and it well used. The drawback is the large paper made it unruly to constantly open and use. A laminated version that would be easier to fold would have been better. I made a 3400 mile journey thru six states.
While I favor Delorme and Benchmark maps for detail, this Rand McNally map gives me the big picture which is great when driving cross country. I can't count the number of these maps I've trusted and worn ragged through the years. Before putting this one to work, I taped all the folds with clear packing tape.
This map shows all the highways and national parks around the western USA. It is good to plan how to get around or to record where you have been. I have used it to mark where we went around the canyonlands (Grand canyon, Monument Valley, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park) and to Las Vegas and back to San Francisco to help in remembering where we went and matching up photos later on. Not as detailed as say the AAA New England map but pretty good for its normal use.
The map was great...brought back memories of when my dad taught me how to read a map. Sadly, these eyes aren't what they were back then, and we used our high tech phone maps. So if you want a paper map, this is great, but consider who will use it.
Perfect map if you are renting a car and driving between California, Nevada and Arizona! All the major roads plus close-ups of the bigger cities like LA and Las Vegas.
I purchaced this map because I am planning to travel out west to see some of the National Parks. This map is very informative and easy to follow. I would recommend it to anyone planning a trip out west, and for less than Starbucks coffee how can you go wrong.
Got this as a little stocking stuffer for my wife. She and a friend are planning a road trip from Washington to Utah this Summer. I have the Delorme Atlases for of the states, but some times you just want a simple road mad to get the "Big Picture."
The description did not list exactly which states were included but I took a chance and luckily all was well. This map turned out to include exactly what I was looking for to send with my husband on his motorcycle trip.
