I am a physician and new to EndNote. Some colleagues have been advising me to use EndNote for managing my refs in papers but looking at the thickness of the EndNote manual I had been reluctant. Then I came across this book on . The book is well-organized and gives information clearly and in usable form. I didn't need to read the whole book end to end - just picked up the section I needed. There are things that you won't find in the manual (even if you own one ;-)- How to use EndNote with PubMed - even including screen shots- How to use EndNote with Ovid- The section on citing Internet resources was very useful too.I hope to try using EndNote on my PDA one of these days. Reading the book makes you feel it should be simple enough.The only negative - the book is based on EndNote version 7. I own EndNote X1. There seem to be only minor variations and therefore I had no problems in using examples from this book. Nonetheless I think a new edition is required now.
First, this book has been published in 2006 but it is based on endnote 7. The current version is endnote ten (X). Moreover, the endnote help is clearer and very easy to use. In consequence, in my opinion, this book is not a good deal
This book is written for a very old version of endnote and has little to do with the latest version of endnote. If you buy this book, as I did, you'll just be wasting your money.
