PEARSON REVIEWS & RATIONALES: MATERNAL-NEWBORN NURSING WITH NURSING REVIEWS & RATIONALES, 3/e provides a clear, concentrated, and up-to-date review of today’s “need to know” knowledge for effective maternal and newborn nursing. Developed and reviewed by a large team of nurse educators, it is fully reflective of the current (2010) NCLEX-RN® Test Plan. The text thoroughly covers family-centered care during normal and complicated experiences in the prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartal, and neonatal periods. Additional chapters focus on ethical, legal, and cultural considerations; reproduction, fertility, and infertility; family planning and contraception; fetal development; laboratory and diagnostic testing; and issues of loss and grief in maternity nursing. This text’s complete support package includes access to additional questions and the complete eText online, and a tear-out NursingNotes card for clinical reference and quick review.  Hundreds of practice questions in the book and online at www.nursingreviewsandrationales.com help students measure their readiness for the NCLEX-RN®. In addition, you can access an eText version of this book on this website.

I was struggling big time in my OB class before this book. I couldnt pass a test to save my life. I bought this book and read the chapters that dealt with my upcoming test. I started making high B's! It is very easy to read and I love the layout. If you are struggling in this class please buy this book. You will not regret it!

I rate it 5 stars because I feel like this book saved my life (in nursing school)This book was able to simplify the nursing information in a condensed mannerI scored 10 points higher on my Exams once I started using this book with the assigned textbook.I even I got an 89 on my HESI final.passed semester with an 81 average.I am very happy with that and will enter my last semester Jan 2014 I have already ordered the med-surg book and comprehensive review.

this bok not only made everything regarding Maternal newborn nursing clearer, it mirrors alot of nclex practice questions. I try to do at least 20-25 questions per topic and all the questions points are reflected in this book. It brought up my grade from one test to the next 14 points. I will definately be using this book as well as others in this series to study for the NCLEX.

Excellent book! great for nursing student, really summarizes major topics and helps to really learn the material. Helped me do great in maternal-child.

The questions are fairly helpful to do at the end of my study process before an exam but it advertises additional questions online and when I log in they are the same questions as in the book. That's disappointing as more online features would be helpful.

This book was more helpful than a textbook that was 1400 pages long. I used this for an OB and Maternity class and I passed with flying colors. Sometimes you don't have time to read all 1400 pages in a 6 week class. I made this my study bible and I passed the ATI Exam with flying colors! Highly recommend if you are strapt for time and need to get to the meat and potatoes of the subject without the irritating textbook fluff.

I'd give it no stars if I could. Access code doesn't work. Is for some other book. A class mate bought two other R&R books and had the same problem. Too bad because they are great books with the supplemental software when it works.

I thought that I could download the audiobook version (VangoNotes) onto my iPod and study on the go. But this edition (3rd) does not come with VangoNotes as what it stated in the book. The VangoNotes is only available for the older (2nd) edition. However, this book has very good rationales for the NCLEX questions.
