I normally do not leave reviews for products but i felt i needed to on this one. I had taken the FP-C back in Dec 2013 and unfortunately missed it by just a few questions. My study material leading up to that test was strictly the Will Wingfield Videos and ACE SAT book. I did learn a lot from that material, however the questions in the ACE SAT book are written significantly harder than the test is actually written. I got the Back to Basics book and strictly studied that for my Re-take. I passed it on 3-26-14 and found the questions in this book to be written almost identical as the actual FP-C test. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is considering increasing their knowlegdge in critical care medicine. Good luck to everyone.

My employer is requiring us to get FP-C by 2016. We talked to others who already have their FP-C and this book was the highest recommended. Ironically, it isn't on the list of "suggested" reading from the FP-C website. This book is less than $20 versus $70+ for the suggested reading textbooks. Literally every single person with their FP-C unanimously recommended Lopez' Basic's Book. I consider myself very comfortable with obstetrics so I took the practice test. I made an 80%. When I went back to look at my wrong answers, it gives the rationale for each answer and explanation as to why it was wrong/right. Great reading and review even if you aren't planning on taking the FP-C.

The kindle price for this review book is unbeatable. This was a great addition for my studies for the CFRN. I would bookmark the answers at the end of the chapter and then bookmark my questions to make flipping back and forth easy while studying.

Could be organized in a simpler manner, there are some waste of space questions in here that I think are far too simple for a flight exam guide. The book is very similar to the ACE-SAT but covers necessary info and serves as a good guide. I purchased this after I passed the FP-C to stay up on knowledge.I think it's so funny that the author put herself on the front cover, just a little bit conceited :)

O.k. so someone help me here. I just may be doing this wrong. I purchased this for my kindle. Sure it reads like a book but reading the test questions, if you wanna review the answer you have to leave the page, go to table of contents, go to review answers, etc. Dont get me wrong the test questions are appropriate for level one is testing but clearly not user friendly.

Good material. Good review of what you need to know. Could have had more critical care and medical in my opinion. Worth getting but I recommend studying from a variety of sources as well. Especially for CFRN.

I'm taking the CCT course in a couple of months, and purchased this as a primer and to see what I should brush up on before attending. I was happy to find that my paramedic program did an excellent job at some non-flight/non-CCT topics. I also found some topics which I need to study. For that purpose, the book worked for me.However, there were several issues I had with the text. Some are minor - like spelling mistakes or other small typos - sentences that are fragments or skip a thought. The occasional Wikipedia reference in the middle of the answers (linking to an actual reference listed in the end notes, but still an editing mistake) was amusing. There were some larger issues, though. I found several instances where a question would ask about one topic with possible answers that didn't make any sense, and the explanation would talk about a completely different topic. Then the following question would be related to the previous explanation, but would have it's own, appropriate explanation. As long as you don't mind some editing errors, it is a good book for the price.

Truly the best prep for CCPC / FPC. Also recommend taking Orchid's in person class. Her simple teaching technique will blow the mind of even well experienced paramedics. This book is like a test book with questions, then at the end of each section the answers with rationale. Buy this in paperback and mark it up! Learn from it then buy another and test yourself again to see how much you have improved.
