D!RTY SPANISH and D!RTY SPANISH WORKBOOK are very thorough. This duo is extremely well put together. It contains slang, idiomatic speak, and regional usage of terms and words. It is not simply 'dirty' language, and not only the banal side of communication, though it has no shortage of that. If you are planning on marrying a native Spanish speaker, or you have a native Spanish speaking novia o novio, this is certainly worth getting. It will make teasing and flirting (and, of course, foreplay) a lot more fun and interesting. Can't wait to use it when I am married!! ;-)If your travels are of a business nature, there are a couple of great books I have found (purchased at abebooks) also located here on containing proverbs, sayings and idioms of the Spanish world which will help you with your communication savvy in those circles. The 'Dirty' duo are obviously of a familiar nature rather than formal, whereas the books containing Spanish sayings, proverbs and such can be used in more formal settings.If you are just looking for a good laugh, but not really in the mood for memorizing and learning this aspect of the Spanish language, you can also get 'Mexican Slang plus Graffiti' which goes by the older name 'Cabo Bob's.... (something or other... did not know it was the same book, and bought the digital download to find that it was, in fact, the same book)'. That book contains similar material, but it is more of a coffee table/bathroom reading book. That is not to say that you won't learn anything from it, and you could use it as a companion to the current books I am reviewing.
