This is your "go to" reference if you are considering plastic surgery. I liked the book so much because Dr. Rohrich, M.D. and his co-author, Mary Crosland made the somewhat difficult and often times overwhelming subject matter very accessible to the reader. I say difficult and overwhelming subject matter because when you are considering altering your looks through elective plastic surgery, it is an emotional and complicated process for most people. Dr. Rohrich, the chairman of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center's Department of Plastic Surgery, provides his vast technical expertise in explaining the most commonly sought out plastic surgery procedures in each stage of life, and tells you what your concerns should be. Ms. Crosland throughout the book gives voice to the potential consumer of the plastic surgery. She is a sophisticated consumer of cosmetic procedures herself, and as such is a sensitive spokesperson for first time visitors to the world of face and neck lifts, reconstructions of noses and liposuction. Ms. Crosland's perspective is very useful and encouraging to the reader. After reading her comments, you feel like you have a buddy to go with you on your consultations and interviews of potential surgeons. Dr.Rohrich also takes a lot of the mystery out of consultations and urges you to ask The Three Magic Questions that will help you select the right surgeon for you. The co-authors take you far beyond the consultations, pre-op and surgery. They stay with you through the recovery process and beyond. This is a valuable reference that you will want to own and will probably want to share with friends and family members. After all, who of us at some point doesn't look in the mirror and ask the question," I wonder if I couldn't look better for my age, more invigorated?
