Exactly what I wanted, waterproof, durable and just enough detail. I have one in each of my bug-out-bags. If you're looking for street detail, then you should keep looking. This is a general map that should be used as a reference, not as a dependence.
I'm one of those people who likes to be prepared. I drive a lot as it's part of my job and I go everywhere. There's always the possibility that my phone dies, backup batteries don't work and the cigarette lighter fails. It's good to have these just in case.What's great about this map is that it's laminated so you don't have to worry about your map tearing itself apartment.I recommend it!
Great map series. I highly recommend any state map of this type! For one that uses good old fashion paper maps, this product is for you.I also use these to confirm what my GPS says! Nothing like redundancy!! I have used the free state maps you get from welcome centers or other venues when travelling & had problems with them tearing along the folds or simply wearing out. This eliminates this problem. These maps should last indefinitely & with the economy tanking, I don't expect any radical changes or many new hwys to be built in the near future. However should there be new highways, these maps could easily be drawn on with any marker to modify the map. Great product & well worth the $$!!
It should say reasonably easy to fold. Great map. I used it in the classroom to show where our pen pals were. I flattened it and put it on the bulletin board for several months. When I took it down it did folded reluctantly. I put a good sized dictionary on top of it for a day and it is back in the file folder until next year. :)It's a good map, clear, easy to read.
I love these easy fold SoCal maps! It even goes all the way up to the Central Coast and the San Joaquin Valley. The only drawback is it doesn't include all of the small city maps that you'll find in the Rand Mcnally (such as Oceanside) and it would be nice to see a little bit of the way south into Mexico, for those random day trips from San Diego (same problem with the Rand Mcnally as the actual Mexico map is worthless since the resolution is so bad).
These are great maps in the respect that you cannot tear them and you can fold as needed without destroying the map. Bad in that it is a condensed map and not a full map. Not all roads are shown or labeled. Good for quick reference for main roads.
Nice laminated map. I used this to plot a route for a recent trip out west. I drew on it with dry erase markers and then wiped it off when I was done. Has enough detail for the southern California area to be all you need for long trips. Glad I got it and I'll use it again next year.
It is as it states, a map of southern CA. Best for driving and basic orientation. To expect it to have individual streets and blocks is asking way too much, if you need it to be more specific get a more specific map.
