With the help of this book, I went from failing physiology to "honoring" every physiology test since. I can't stress enough how much Physiology Secrets helped out. It's like having your own personal tutor asking you key questions and then explaining the answers completely and clearly. If I were a professor of Physiology, I would make this required reading. Too bad, this book is now out of print. Try to get your copy while you can.
Dr Raff taught endocrinology for us. Bought his book thinking it might help as study material for exam. He's good at explaining answers to some of the more difficult questions. Whole book is Q and A style though, so if you don't like that, it's not for you.
Anyone studying physiology has gone through the frustration of learning some complex pathway, but never understanding its significance. Physiology Secrets steps up that understanding by posing questions about many of the big points that are often missed. The question and answer format is wonderful for sparking thought on each subject, and the concise yet detailed answers give students what they need to assess their level of understanding. It's too dense a book to read all at once, but is excellent to use while studying a particular organ system or mechanism.
Awesome to passing your Nursing exam! The physiology part of the exam at least! Very, Very helpful! It was highly recommended to me by a Professor, so I bought it !
