First, this thing is very large - 4 x 6 feet. Heavy duty paper, shiney, but non-glaring, finish. Arrived without a bit of damage, well packaged in a heavy plastic tube inside a sturdy box. Since it is heavy paper, it is not hard to manuver dispite its size. It's an attractive wall hanging. Very detailed, but remember it's not a road map, major roads only. The type is easy to read without reading glasses. Our driving limit is 500 miles at a stretch, so this full size map makes it easy to rough out a cross-country road trip without having to flip pages or use more than one map. It is also interesting to see where stuff is relative to the rest of the country and our home. If you like geography, maps, or travel, and you have a large space on the wall, this is an asset.
If your looking for a great looking, detailed, interesting U.S. map at just the right size then this map would be perfect for you. It's not too large yet includes many cities/towns in all states either well-known or not. It works out well for me becuase I find it fun to put small push pins in all the different cities I visited all around the country. The map also makes room for parts of Canada and Mexico. The key is very helpful and creative and the map also shows some of the more mountainous regions of the U.S. I have it hanging up right above my bed and I love just exploring the map and the states every night before I go to bed.
Decent quality paper map that came well packaged and in good condition. Not quite as much detail with roads as I had hoped, but is adequate for mapping vacation trips.
I don't know what I was thinking... This is almost the size of a full wall mural. Good product, laminated, and withstood the brunt of United Parcel's best intentions to destroy it. This is not a show piece, it is more industrial.
Very nice map. I'm not sure why people are saying it is laminated- the paper is nice and sturdy, but it is not laminated at least in the traditional sense. The map itself is a nice 4x6 foot sized, and the text is crisp and sharp. Lots of cities and towns are listed. I used foam core (also from , needed 6 20x30 boards) to back the map, now I am able to insert push pins into the map detailing everywhere I've visited. Good map, recommended.

National Geographic put so much thought into this map that you absolutely have to appreciate it whether your a geographer or a student! This map provides amazing detail of both the physical and political parts of the US and looks absolutely great! Some things I really appreciate are:1.) Additional maps of Alaska and Hawaii2.) The slight curve of the Earth that most map producers neglect with the US because its pretty slight!
Very happy with Classic Wall map. The map was used for plotting sales across the US. Small enough to fit on a wall, yet big enough to show all of the prominent cities.Also shipping of map was fast and it was packaged very well for transport.
