Iceland is not only a lovely country to visit, it is one of our most popular titles. This is a relatively minor updating, designed to keep our artwork fresh and up to date. We have retained the cover picture of the geyser that gave its name to all naturally occurring fountains of water that explode out of bedrock at regular intervals, as it so perfectly represents this beautiful country. As with previous versions, this map is printed on plastic for durability. The plastic is waterproof as well, which is not a big issue in Iceland, but the map can be used as an umbrella in the event of a sudden shower.

Excellent map for driving around all of Iceland. We just spent two weeks driving clockwise around Iceland, adding the West Fjords and East Fjords to the usual circuit on the Ring Road. Details of gas stations and museums/points of interest very appreciated and appear to be accurate. We did not feel the need to purchase any of the much more detailed map books carried by the N1 and Olis gas stations.This map is far superior to the National Geographic map. 1) It is more accurate, showing some of the new tunnels in the northern coast of Iceland, helping us make critical driving decisions. 2) The graphics on this map are much clearer and more readable. Choice of font and color for the text results in superior legibility. I had to keep getting the magnifying glass out to read the Natl Geo map while sitting at the dining room table. That isn't going to work when in the car!
Wonderful map for our nine day trip around Iceland using mostly 1, the Ring Road. Large enough scale, with enough detail to know where you are without using your phone. We found it handy to identify the mountains you see and know when we would get to the next gas station. Map also includes elevation info.
I used this map for a 10 day tour through Iceland. The roads are very accurate and easy to follow, and it includes distances between segments so you can easily tell how far you need to go. However, not all of the swimming pools and gas stations displayed on the map existed.
We used this map during our 2 week trip to Iceland and I purchased it based on the reviews on . Excellent idea of a waterproof/unrippable map as the weather was quite wet for several days, and being a light paper-feeling plastic, the map does not get destroyed after repeated folding and unfolding. One major mis-print I pointed out to the publisher: Highway 54 from Olafsvik to Budardalur is labelled as 57 on the 2015 version of the map and that is incorrect. Google Maps has this stretch as a continuation of 54 and all of the road signs going east are labelled 54. There is no hwy 57 in this part of the country. Hopefully they correct the 2016 version of the map.
Very helpful to have in conjunction with a GPS as it gives you an overall view of the island. It is also helpful that it is water resistant as we encountered rain and it didn't get damaged.
Used this to get around all of Iceland instead of GPS. Might have been a little crazy for us to do this as this map is very large and thus can not be detailed, but it was the perfect adventure and the map held up through rain, snow, mud, and brennivín.
Just had a 9 day trip to Iceland. The map works super fine。 We bought phone card just in case. The map shows many valuable information including the road types ( paved, unpaved, gravel etc) which is very helpful when we made the safest route choices esp. in Westfjord. It also includes gas station so we always had no worry of running out of gas before the next gas station. Highly recommend.
This map is awesome! It has all the roads and major points of interest. Specifically important to me - camping sites and gas stations!
