I used this book and several of my co-residents from training also taking the written boards used this book.. It was the ONLY book that I used personally, and I PASSED! The book is a quick read and has lots of questions/answers... NOT a surgical handbook, but a quick review for the months before boards.... written for the boards, and not meant to be a comprehensive textbook...
Although the cover claims this edition has been "thoroughly updated," most of the chapters are identical to the first edition, including the multitude of errors. It is still a very useful resource for studying for the PSEF, but use a second source to check facts as you go.
This review book was amazing, It covered all aspects of PRS and the Q and A format makes it user friendly, helpful and nice to read
