This is a great guide for someone who knows nothing as they plan 10 to 20 years down the line for retirement. On top of that, it's of great use to those who are very close to retirement's doorstep as well. The inclusion of so many weblinks (that can be easily bookmarked if you use a Kindle), and specific retirement care resources should be useful to anyone concerned about Medicare, Medicaid, and long-term care (as well as if Obamacare affects any of it). This book unravels all of the different parts of Medicare, and focuses in on what YOU should focus on in order to get things done right. Good information on how to handle long-term care, how to remain socially active, and when to make important financial moves is all included in this guide to later life. The book takes care as well to warn about scams against the elderly, and provides an holistic approach to health, finance, and general life outlook. Some have said this book is a 'good' start. For me (some 15 years out from retirement at most) this book represents an informational treasure trove. As well, I can now speak intelligently to my 80 year old mother about her life in retirement. I look at this as a multi-generational guide through the golden years.
Helpful resource tool to find answers to numerous retirement questions and issues. Great book with helpful information for ongoing reference.
Wish I had this book before I retired 16 years ago. I would have made different choices, especially regarding Social Security. When you apply, you are not given any information so you can make an educated decision. Highly recommend this book if you are contimplating retirement. However, it list Idaho City as cheapest place to live. It is remote & very little there since most of the town burned down.
great insight on the upcoming years. allready see the Medicare mess after 2 months being on it. Should have read the book first. going to be a challange in the coming years.
Good information that you may not already know, and lots of it. Everyone should have this as a reference.
Full of good advice for baby boomers getting close to retirement or prepping for retirement.
It is a good book, but I'm pretty sure the Social Security info is incorrect. It states that you will receive the same monthly pay out between 63 and 66, the Social Security website says it goes up each year?? Hope the rest of the info is alright.
Lots of good info in various areas. Will pay for itself easily.
