It's amazing that there are so many 5 star reviews within a couple of weeks after publication. Rave reviews have been posted more than five times everyday. It's like a million seller. Most of these 4-5 star reviews are fake. Seriously. Check out the reviewers. You'll see most of their reviews include the same books with similar language and tones. They are all cheap ebook review specialists. Buyers beware.
The book title is misleading. This book is not on how to read the body language but on how to use the body language, especially with the power posture. You'd better read Amy Cuddy's original book "Presence" to really learn about power poses. If you want to learn what body language is and how to understand others, this book is not for you. Bad organization and presentation of the subject matter.
This book is so poorly organized. There's only one chapter on reading the body language. Most of the content is on the power poses. If you want to learn how to read people's body language, skip this one.
As another reviewer noted, this book is about power poses, popularized by Amy Cuddy. It's a total plagiarism presenting the material without citing her work. And this book is not comprehensive at all on the topic of body language.Instead of buying this short book, you'll learn more by watching Amy Cuddy's famous TED talk: "Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are"
Divided into eight chapeters, this book is packed with great, useful and interesting stuff about Body Language. I like how author looks at it as “another real language”. It was also very interesting to read how your handshake can say a lot about you and how can you read body language. The book is well-written and easy to follow. I find it very helpful for everday use, because we are always surrounded with body language, but we don’t pay much attention to it. By reading this, you can really change the way to look at it, being more analytic and understand people’s emotions better.
This is very important for me as a teacher. I want to know more about how it can affect my students when they attend their first interview. I always tell them that words are not enough. Now I will be able to teach them how to have the best gestures. I can also apply it for myself and get good results from doing it to reading other people's mind. For all I know, body language is more honest than simply listening to words. Thanks to this book for making it possible.
