I wanted to get up to speed on Great Britain. I have always felt that most of the history I knew about this amazing country was a list of bits and pieces of different events and cultural icons. However, after reading this book it all hangs together in my head much better. I am amazed at the deepness and richness of the history of Great Britain. The best part is that it is in lists which are extremely easy to follow along with. I wish I had this resource when I was studying European history in school!
History for me is boring but this is different! It gives me the touch of interests fro page one up to the last page. From stone age up to the good friday agreement. British history is nice to tackle not only inside the classroom but even outside. The good thing with the book they include pictures for us to see what it really looks like during that time. This is highly recommended for students and history teachers.
This is a very well written and comprehense book about British history. Upon reading the book, i thought i was reading an encyclopedia because of the learnings and insights i got from it. Very informative indeed. It certainly enriched my knowledge of the past especially since Britain played a major role in shaping our world history as well. I knew little about their history until i got to finish the entire book, i really enjoyed every page of history inside it. This will come in very handy in knowing more about the past and how it affects the world today.
Time travel the Great Britain with this book. Get transported to various eras in British history with just a few clicks. You’d think reading a history book would be deathly boring, but the author was able to turn the experience into an enjoyable one. Very easy read with engaging pictures. I love history, and I love it even more when it’s presented like this! Highly recommended to students and history buffs!
The British history is very interesting. Just like any history, it has distinct events that took part in molding what it is today. In this book, 50 events were presented to give us the whole picture of how the British Isles came to be. I loved how the author wrote them because it is very easy to understand and did not bore me at all (unlike some history books that I usually read when I am doing a paper in school). It suits me , because I always opt to read short books with great and concise content. This can definitely be a great reference for history students like me.
More than anything else, British History in 50 Events is so informative. It has been so educational in its purpose--to be able to tell the world the 50 events that changed British history. Anyone reading this will be amazed at how these past events related to whatever is happening now. I think this is such a comprehensive book and a must read by anyone studying world history or even by those wanting to add more to what they already know.
What a fantastic and interesting new way to learn history! I'm so happy I found this book. The writing is highly educational but it is also extremely immersive at the same time. And that's what I really appreciated with this book. It really made me curious to keep on turning the pages and learn more about British history. You don't need a 1000-page book to learn what needs to be learned about this subject, just get this one and you'll be way better off. Trust me. Job well done, James Weber!
History of every places or countries is interesting for me and I am glad I have found this book. The 50 events that are stated in this book has given me the opportunity to imagine the things that happened in the past and the best part was it also has pictures of the places like the tomb, the wall etc. This book would really be great for individuals who wanted to learn more about it specially if you are students.
