An extremely helpful reference for most of the "bread and butter" Neurosurgery topics. For it's size, which is extremely convenient, it packs a ton of info. You can't really compete with the cost either! This book is great for anyone that will be spending any time studying Neurosurgery, especially for med students and lower level residents. Sure, it's not Greenberg....but this book actually fits in your pocket and omits lower yield topics within NS. The handiness of the size cannot be overemphasized...there have been quite a few times I've actually kept this book in my JEANS pocket if I was going to be able to fit in any extra study time (ex: on a plane, long car ride, etc). That is a long way from trying to cram a Greenberg in an even larger white coat pocket. Great concise review of NS with sound information/statistics, while providing a quick means of locating frequently referenced NS topics.-A Neurosurgery Resident
I was very surprised at how small this book truly is. Definitely is a pocket book. So far with my use it seems to cover common disorders seen in neurosurgery, though some of the less common I was not happen to find. Index is quickly accessible and pages are well laid out despite the small size of the book. Hard to common to the Greenberg text, but is way more portable for quick reference.
An excellent resource for students and residents entering into the field of neurology/neurosurgery. Book is organized in a way that makes it very easy to find the pertinent, real-life applicable clinical information that is very helpful for patient care. These are essential information that is needed for patient care on the wards. This book covers everything from clinical work up, differential diagnosis and management of the patient-
This is a particularly excellent resource for quick review before a case and in between clinic patients for the most important facts related to a wide breadth of topics in neurosurgery. It fits easily into the white coat, or even a scrubs pocket, making the Tarascon Neurosurgery Pocketbook a convenient resource. I found the book very helpful for my neurosurgery Sub-I's, and plan to continue utilizing it throughout residency. In addition to boasting useful information, all the proceeds from this pocketbook go toward FIENS (Foundation for International Education in Neurosurgery) making this purchase a benefit for global health. An essential pocket guide for newcomers to neurosurgery. I found this book to be especially helpful on my neurosurgery rotations. It contains information in an organized and concise manner that is pertinent to patient care. I also liked the fact that it actually fit into my white coat pocket!
