A v well done small volume. I have both the first edition e-book and the upgraded paper second edition. To the point, well written and researched. Full of info that only an experienced practitioner has.For many, this will be a go to book. Like most Thieme books a little overpriced for a small format book, but still worth it.Excellence.
I'm interested in being able to follow and palpate nerve pathways throughout the body, but particularly in the limbs. This book was very helpful with that even though the nerve descriptions weren't continuous from nerve root to termination. Rather, they were described within a regional context but the sections were easy to connect and offered an understanding of each nerve's relationship to bones, joints, fasciae, muscles and blood vessels. "This is a good review of peripheral nerve anatomy and examination techniques and I enjoyed reading it. There is a good balance between text and figures that makes it easy to read through and understand."- Doody's Book Review Service"In summary, this gem of a book provides both the novice and seasoned clinician with a means of rapidly learning and reviewing the essentials of peripheral nerve anatomy and function in an extremely succinct and well-organized form. It is aptly named and its price makes it a bargain."- Journal of Neurosurgery"This book is well organized, user friendly, and is small and light enough to fit into the pocket of a lab coat. The photographs and illustrations help to clearly convey salient concepts. ...it would be an excellent reference for clinicians who are gaining experience in examining and localizing peripheral nerve lesions."- Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy-- The Author
I have read a lot of books about peripheral nerve disorders but this is undoubtly the best one about examination of peripheral nerve injuries. It also provides great pictures and drawings. Highly recommended for neurologists, neurosurgeons, traumatologists, and any other physician involved in the management of patients with peripheeral nerve injuries.
