It offers a broad perspective, encompassing lucid descriptions of behavior, evolutionary history, development, proximate mechanisms, and applications. The Sixth Edition features a thoroughly redesigned and up-to-date Cognitive Neuroscience module (Part VI; Chapters 17 19), with expanded coverage of attention, executive control, and decision-making processes, in keeping with the latest research breakthroughs. Optional advanced topics are available on the Web as A Step Further, streamlining the printed text to emphasize the important points. The new edition boasts hundreds of new references, including research students may have encountered in the popular media. Yet critical thinking skills are also honed as the reader is alerted to the many widely held myths about the neuroscience of behavior and educated about facts that sound unlikely to the uninformed. Thorough and reader-friendly, Biological Psychology reveals the fascinating interactions of brain and behavior. This book has a really good presentation making it easy to understand step by step a normally daunting subject. Fantastic. The loose leaf version enable pages to be removed and comfortable position for the computor to get and reference information easily instead of having to struggle with a large book in a confined space continually losing the page being worked on.It is always difficult finding the relative information required for dyplomas etc. This book has an easy find system, and a really good method of getting that information over to the students easily.A Good Job.

I love this book. I also love the fact that it is looseleaf. Just make sure you read the description. This text puts complex subjects in terms that make sense for anyone who is being introduced to neuroscience. Fantastic topics, enjoyed reading it for class.

It is a required text for my graduate course. Given the data involved at the cellular level for the biology aspects related to emotions and personality/relationship issues, a lot of it is difficult and complex. This text makes it about as clear as it can become.

This textbook has an incredible supplementary website: biopsychology.com. You should definitely check it out, even if you don't buy the book; it does not require a sign in to use.
