Decent price, came in good condition. I am not impressed with this series of books thus far. The workbook has a lot of "translate from English to Chinese" sections and many of the English doesn't directly translate with what has been learned in the book.
My school used these books for the first year chinese students. It's a very fun book to work with and certainly can keep your attention. At times it seemed a little too concerned with being visually pleasing but never to the point of being overly distracting. Also the font they used for the characters caused a couple of them to be misleading and our teacher had to correct it a few times.The workbook corresponds very nicely with the lessons, and the listening CDs were also a valuable tool for getting the pronunciation down. Also in the back they've listed simplified characters in addition to the traditional so it's possible to learn both with this textbook.My only real beef with it was that I felt the vocabulary I was learning to not really be very practical or applicable, and some of the dialogues seemed really stilted and artificial. But I get that they have limited vocab to work with.Overall, fun book to work with, and good for beginners. Next year we jump into something that looks a little more serious and hardcore ... which makes the academic side of me really happy.
Used this book in my Chinese I class and I loved that class. The textbook enhanced our learning experience and was very enjoyable and easy to follow.

The exercises have a tendency to be vague, and the room provided for character work on those vague questions is poor.
