I needed something to help me with ekgs fast. I am a new registered nurse that just got a job in a graduate nurse program on a surgical pcu floor and have an ekg test coming up. This book was easy to understand and helped me dramatically. I think that just maybe 2 more read throughs and I should be prepared.
This is not a book that teaches, or even references, 12-lead EKG interpretation. The title "EKG|ECG" is misleading. The subtitle "Learn Rhythm Interpretation and Arrhythmias Easily" is a more accurate description of the contents of this book.This book is good for nurses and other healthcare providers new to telemetry, or as a compliment to a lecture about cardiac electrical activity.
This is a great book for a quick review of ecg. I am a nurse and I feel like I need to refresh my ecg knowledge and this book worked for me. It's easy to understand and it goes direct to the point. If you are looking for a more detailed ecg book this might not be for you. I recommend this book to people like me who wants a quick and direct to the point ecg understanding.
Systematically breaks down the EKG And ECG readouts so simply and effectively, that even a complete novice like myself can understand and follow what is going on. Great resource for medical students or a great refresher for nurses or other medical staff. Great visuals in the book, really helped me understand the differences between the wave types!
I am going into my final semester of RN school and that means Cardiac. I bought this book to help me with the rhythm strips and how to tell the difference between them. I have been slowly easing myself into it during the winter break, this book has been helpful in distinguishing one rhythm from another and breaking down the interpretation. I am hoping that this will be very helpful in the upcoming semester!
When my husband's dad was rushed to the hospital, the doctor and nurses run an ECG on him. I thought they were really awesome to have the ability to read all those complex stuff. I wanted to read something about ECG not really to learn it exactly, but just to get familiar with it and this book was such a big help to me. It introduced me to the basics of ECG as well as how to read. I am still a little confused on the interpreting part, but I am more than satisfied with the basics taught in here. The pictures and examples inside were also quite helpful. Good enough for a greenhorn like me.
Excellent handbook! Easy to understand and includes nursing interventions and treatments. Got the book on Tuesday, took the ECG interpretation test on Wednesday and got a 95%. Couldn't be happier. I'm planning on taking it to work with me.
