Arrived it perfect condition and shipping was quick. The text is easy to read and gives an overall picture of each organ system. It breaks it down into basic anatomy, common critical care meds, disease processes that are seen with that organ system and what to do when your patient is not doing so hot. Downside is that there is LOTS of errors in this book. I used it for my critical care class in nursing school and the teacher said she would never use it again because it was wrong or didn't cover important issues on many occasions.
This book is great, it pulls out KEY info necessary and breaks it up into systems for easy retention. I think this book is a great alternative to the "... Made Easy" nursing books, they less than 1/2 the price with basically the same info, and broken down into even more key info. My only complaint would be that I wish the pics were color, but for $15 its good. A very cheap accessory considering all the other books we buy in nursing school.
This has practice questions that I need for my tests in critical care nursing. I will see if it helps me on this next test. My Critical Care class, there are no practice questions in the book and the teacher doesn't go over the rationales behind points highlighted in the lectures.
This book does break things down to simplify the complicated process of critical care...however, the editor must not have known what was correct or incorrect information when proof reading. This is unfortunate because the reader may memorize tables (table 2-3, for instance) and have the info completely wrong. I believe the author did great in illustrating and explaining the concepts but should have a trained professional edit the content.
This book is a helpful study aide guiding me through the in's and out's of critical care as i progress though my orientation. This book is extremely helpful for re- introducing information that you may not have seen sence nursing school. Its written in a clear and easy to read format that isnt too dry, its great for those who have trouble staying awake through a text book.
I'm an RN student, currently in my last semester of school. This is a great book in that it really helps to break down the disease processes in easy to understand format. The last semester of nursing school is stressful enough and this has managed to help make it a little less stressful!
I develop and manage policies and educational programs for a large ambulatory medical group and this book is must reference for my work. I, also, teach advance life support and this book has been invaluable in my programs.
The idea is great but some of the chapter are full of confusing words.Not many illustration or pictures. People who buys books like this are having trouble understating the ordinary books and buy something like this, expecting some illustrations to demystify the concept but this wasn't it.It's good for refreshing your knowledge for the price offers.
