I hate having to spend so much money on textbooks that I don't even use but this was affordable and actually very interesting! We used it every week and the readings were very informative and not "watered down" or white-washed.

I very much liked the way the book was set up by combining stories based on type (such as health care, abuse, laws, etc) but I think this book has a heavy slant on men and how bad they are. This was used for a Intro to Gender Studies class and my professor had to add alot of extra reading just to get a rounded view for the male side of the class. This book is good as a starting point for discussion but any class that uses it should use supplemental reading as well.

I purchased this book as a rental for one of my college courses and now coming to an end of this semester I have decided to make the final purchase to keep it. Great and valuable information and def worth purchasing.

This book is so full of insight and unique perspectives. As a woman, it was really empowering to read.Even though it was just for a class, I very much enjoyed it.

This book was assigned to me for one of my classes. Never before have I wanted to keep a borrowed book as much as I do this! This is an EXCELLENT resource for masterfully written works on feminism, ranging from academic style to personal stories to song lyrics and poems. I highly recommend this book, even if you aren't using it in a class. A must have for the feminist book collection.

There are a lot of poems and short stories in here I like. The book wasn't an awful price. There were some light markings that I knew when I bought it but those don't bother me. What is inside is what I like!.

Beautifully written, powerful stories that show the intersection of class, gender, race, sexuality and other categories that shape our lives in this society. This antollogy of women and men's stories vividly narrates one after another the realities of social inequality across the globe. A must for anyone interested in becoming an ally in the movement for gender and social equality

I had to buy this book for an Intro to Women's Studies course. It is an very thorough collection of texts on feminism.
