This book really does do the stuff. Not only is is a handy size that fits nicely in my hand without making the weight too much for me to handle, I've been using this book for about 6 months now and the way that Princeton breaks every term down for you in easy-to-understand terms really does benefit you in the long run. Even with the newly designed SAT and PSAT, I still find this book useful since I am the last year to be able to take the older SAT. Furthermore, this book also helps in every day terms and also to simply expand one's vocabulary through non-intensive studying.Would recommend again!! the only thing I don't really like is the fact that the pages are so thin, you can't highlight really well!! But that's how all of the prep books these days are designed, so no points docked!
This book is a Beestar SAT recommended reference and I got a copy from my SAT tutor. SAT Power Vocab, a Princeton Review book, not just builds word bank, it provides strategies and builds learning system. We all use strategies to master a standard test like SAT. Everything in this book is highly organized and the strategies are easy to understand. It helps me to set up my learning process and to implement the basic methods. The five key methods are: Basic method 1: Tricks and Mnemonics, Method 2 Seeing is remembering, Method 3: Etymological Clues Method 4 writing on your brain Method 5 Putting it all together with flash cards and a note book. Another most wonderful part of this book is the Hit Parade words. Vocabulary is so important in SAT. While we all spent long time in years to build our word bank, we also need to short, targeting words to review right before the test. The Parade words are likely to appear in Critical Reading of SAT. These words, along with the techniques for memorizing them, make the book standing out of others. It made me more confident with my coming SAT test.Enough tests and 170 quizzes in the book allow me to self test my progress. With my word lists, the practices in this book and Beestar vocabulary weekly test online, I am confident about my SAT. I highly recommend my SAT word bible!
